What "Data-Driven" Actually Means Here

Most opening advice online is a strong player's opinion, dressed up as a rule. "Always play this," "never play that", stated with confidence, backed by nothing you could check yourself.

This site takes a different approach: every opening is built by processing real games, tens of thousands per opening in most cases, and extracting what real players actually did at each position. That gives three genuinely different, genuinely useful kinds of data, and this hub is about being precise regarding which one applies where:

1. Recommended Elo range. Each of the 36 openings on this site has a researched suitability range, not a guess, based on how sharp the resulting positions are and how much precise calculation they demand. A beginner-friendly opening and a razor-sharp gambit aren't suited to the same player, even if both are theoretically sound.

2. Real move frequency. At any given position, this data shows what percentage of real games actually played each specific move. A line played in 91% of real games is a genuinely different animal from one played in 12%, the first is close to forced, the second is a real, live decision point.

3. Total game volume. How many real games actually back a given repertoire, individually validated, not inflated by counting the same game twice under two different openings.

What isn't here: win-rate data segmented by rating band. This site's data tracks what was played, not who won afterward. Any article claiming otherwise on this hub would be overstating what's actually verifiable, so none of them do.
